Writing task
One of tasks of the conference intern will be to assist a conference participants with disabilities. Imagine a scenario where one of our scholars (scholarship recipients) has a visual impairment. How would you approach and arrange the support for this person throughout their conference experience (from the time they received information they have been granted the scholarship, through visa application process, travelling to Los Angeles/Long Beach, when they arrive at the conference venue, throughout the conference, on the way back home and afterwards)?

max. 300 words

For all participants coming to the conference we will need to prepare a logistical note -a document explaining basic information that will be useful to them when arriving in Los Angeles/Long Beach and at the conference venue. In bullet points, please indicate the information that will need to be covered for ILGA World-sponsored participants (scholars, staff and board members).

Max. 300 words

Participants sponsored by ILGA World to attend the conference (scholars, staff, board members and invited guests) receive a DSA (daily subsistence allowance). This sum is to cover any additional meals, public transport cost, any additional small expenses. To avoid handling large amounts of cash, how could we make DSA available for the participants travelling and arriving in Los Angeles/Long Beach. Take into consideration participants coming from countries where they might not have bank accounts or receiving money from international LGBTI organisation might be putting them in danger from local authorities. What other challenges could we anticipate?
